Over the last several months, we have faced unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been forced to fundamentally change our personal and professional lives, and are trying to work, live, and accept a “new normal”.
Although compassion is at the core of support services, it can be difficult to find, maintain, and/or cultivate compassion for others (or ourselves!) during periods of distress, change, and uncertainty. The question then becomes not only how to find compassion for others, but how to use it for ourselves to stay well and help manage compassion fatigue, burnout, and our own mental health. In these workshops we will explore the different types of compassion, skills and strategies to manage stress, and how to use them to take care of ourselves so we can continue to take care of others.
